So, Chris and I are in a Supper Club. It is a group of 5 couples and we get together once a month to eat and fellowship. We always have a great time together, but I have to say yesterday's meeting was our best so far.
We started meeting together last year and made a full rotation through everyone's house. What I mainly remember about the first year is the food. There was a pork roast at the Norris' house; chicken casserole at the Aycock's, chicken & steak kabobs at the Daughety's, lasagna at our house and a fabulous fish stew at the Parrish's. I also remember the kids. They were there in full force enjoying the fellowship as much (if not more) than we were.
This year (we start our year after the summer) we decided to do it a little differently. We decided to leave the kids with sitters and include an activity with our meals. Our house was the first and we set up a game night with burgers and fixin's. We ended up talking and eating and never really getting to any games. Last month was at the Aycock's house and we had seafood and were supposed to watch a ballgame. Again, we ended up eating and talking and not really getting to the game.
Well, this month we were at the Norris' and our hostess was intent on getting us out to the activity. She had the food set up and ready for us to eat as soon as we got there and encouraged us to bring our desserts out to the driveway for an adult pumpkin carving contest. Catherine and Travis had our pumpkins lined up for us on a table and had all of the tools you could ever even imagine waiting for us to dig into those orange globes.
When we were finished, the judge decided that our pumpkin was the winner! Okay, he probably felt sorry for us or maybe he was hoping for some more lasagna soon...whatever the case, he liked our pirate pumpkin at least a little. :)
Here are the pictures of all of our hard work. Let's see what you guys think.
The Norris' Dinosaur Pumpkin (Yes, it is trick-or-treating!)

And, here is a back and front view of our pumpkin all lit up for nighttime viewing. Cola snuck into one of the pics. :)

Happy Halloween!!!
